HOW DO I CLEAN MY HELMET?

Helmets are made of materials that can be damaged by many commonly available cleaners.
\nClean the helmet using a soft cloth or sponge, warm water and mild soap. When drying, be careful the helmet doesn\u2019t get too hot as this can damage the lining and the EPS. Let dry at room temperature, never close heating appliances as too high temperature will damage the inner liner material and inner shell.<\/p>\n <\/div>\n

HOW DO I CLEAN THE INNER LINER OF MY HELMET?

Clean the removable liner hand wash using a towel then permit to air dry whenever it\u2019s possible to attenuate heat damage.<\/p>\n <\/div>\n

HOW DO I CLEAN THE VISOR OF MY HELMET?
\u200d<\/div>\n

The DMD visors are anti-scratch. All the shields are very strong and durable, but they can get damaged. Take care not to expose your shield to any chemicals. Visor cleaning should be done only with warm water and a micro fiber cloth.<\/p>\n <\/div>\n

HOW DO I STORE MY HELMET?

After each use, allow the helmet to air dry and then store it in a dry place (preferably in the original helmet bag) where it won\u2019t get damaged.<\/p>\n <\/div>\n

CAN I PAINT MY HELMET?
\u200d<\/div>\n

DMD does not recommend to use any kind of paints or solvents on the helmets. They can damage a helmet so that its protective capabilities are significantly reduced.<\/p>\n <\/div>\n

WHAT KIND OF WARRANTY DOES MY HELMET COME WITH?
\u200d<\/div>\n

The DMD warranty applies for a period of 3 years from the date of purchase.<\/p>\n

To proceed with the repair or replacement of the product, it is necessary to provide a receipt or purchase invoice indicating the purchase date.<\/p>\n

The warranty covers materials and manufacturing defects.<\/p>\n

DMD is not responsible regarding the following issues:<\/p>\n

\u2013 damages caused by accidents or by mishandling of product<\/p>\n

\u2013 products modified by purchaser or third party<\/p>\n

\u2013 reason such as sizing or choice of color and model<\/p>\n

\u2013 ageing due to normal use of the helmet<\/p>\n

\u2013 incorrect usage, negligence and\/or mishandling of the helmet<\/p>\n

\u2013 damages caused by exposure to high temperatures<\/p>\n

\u2013 use of damaging chemical products or alcohol spirits for external\/internal cleaning<\/p>\n

\u2013 scratches of the outer part of the shell, or eventual cracks on the surface and on the visor<\/p>\n

\u2013 damages due to an incorrect storage of the helmet<\/p>\n

\u2013 eventual personal problems such as comfort, size, aerodynamics, noises<\/p>\n

\u2013 anything not covered by \u201craw materials and manufacturing defects\u201d<\/p>\n <\/div>\n

HOW OFTEN SHOULD A HELMET BE REPLACED?

DMD has a general recommendation of replacing your helmet every three year.<\/p>\n <\/div>\n

WHAT DO I DO IF MY HELMET BECOMES DAMAGED?

WHAT DO THE ECE-2205 STANDARD MEAN?
\u200d<\/div>\n

ECE-2205 is a European Community specific helmet standard a helmet has to meet in order to may be used in Europe. Helmets are put through (among others) an impact absorption test to ensure maximum health and safety standards.<\/p>\n <\/div>\n

WHY DO DMD USE A ‘DOUBLE D’ RING CLOSURE?
\u200d<\/div>\n

The \u2018Double D\u2019 ring is at the moment the safest way to fasten a helmet as other fasteners may be damaged easily.<\/p>\n <\/div>\n

CAN I CHANGE THE PADDING TO MAKE IT MORE COMFORTABLE\/CHANGE THE SIZE?
\u200d<\/div>\n

The inner liner is removable in all DMD helmets in order to custom fit the helmet to your head. Please note you can only change between sizes where the shell size is the same. For example changing a Medium in a Large is not possible as the shell size is different.<\/p>\n <\/div>\n

SHOULD I TRY A NEW MODEL FOR SIZE, EVEN IF I ALREADY WEAR A DMD?

If you buy the same model is not necessary. If you want something different you have to check the size. For example, if you\u2019ve always worn a jet helmet and you would like to buy a fullface model the size guide change slightly.<\/p>\n <\/div>\n

CAN I BUY A DOT CERTIFIED HELMET FROM THIS WEBSITE?

HOW LONG IS THE WARRANTY PERIOD FOR ACCESSORIES?

The DMD warranty is valid for 2 years from the date of purchase.
\nThe warranty covers any defects in raw materials or workmanship.
\nHowever, the warranty does not cover:
\n\u2013 damage caused by accidents, falls, or impacts to the product
\n\u2013 products modified by the purchaser or third parties
\n\u2013 issues related to incorrect choice of size, color, or model
\n\u2013 normal wear and tear not related to manufacturing defects
\n\u2013 use not in accordance with the user manual
\n\u2013 damage caused by exposure to high temperatures
\n\u2013 damage caused by the use of unsuitable cleaning products
\n\u2013 scratches on the visor
\n\u2013 damage resulting from improper storage of the product
\n\u2013 complaints based on subjective factors such as whistling, vibrations, noise, or aerodynamics
